April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) began her musical journey in the 7th grade in which she began piano and guitar classes. At the age of seven April started taking guitar and piano lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. At the age of 14, April was devoted for a long period of time in making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. Then, in the following months, April began traveling with her father as well as write her songs either in NY as well as LA. April featured other topics in her song"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt issues like peer pressure, issues or even teenage suicide thinking. Lockhart is a partner at popular cosmetics brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle influencer with her own growing following. Her disability is a part of her persona, however it is not the whole picture. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore the fact that she has a disability. But it also doesn't insist on her disability. What message is it sending? It's important to keep in mind that everyone has numerous faces. Our identities are diverse and we're much more than our bodies. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart in a video interview "I do not believe that disability is what defines my character. I don't intend to have an impact on disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." It doesn't affect my everyday life. All is well and I've learned to adapt. It's also a part of my personality, and it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart inspires us to keep striving to be self-accepting. She admits that she has gone through phases where she felt insecure about wearing certain clothing styles which displayed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. She also posts pictures on social media. The journey itself is what I'm not sure if you ever arrive she says about self-love. However, that is the case with anyone with doubts. It's my opinion that having those around you who really understand you and can see your heart is really important because they'll be the people who will remind you what you concerned about?
